Who Can Enroll?
Clearwater Connection uses computer-assisted instruction (OdysseyWare and Passkey software) to meet the needs of students who have not finished high school. The program allows students to earn a high school diploma from their former high school or from USD 264 (Clearwater) using a self-paced instructional model.
Clearwater Connection also offers a computerized GED Prep program for students who need to prepare for the GED test. Clearwater Connection does not enroll students under the age of 16, and students between 16 and 18 years of age are only enrolled under special circumstances.
Most of Clearwater Connection's students are between 17 and 25 years of age, but older students are very welcome and are encouraged to enroll.
Is Clearwater Connection A School?
Most of
the work done by students at Clearwater Connection is computer
generated, and the school is actually a computer lab where students
can work on their classes independently.
The program is a cooperative effort on the part of the sponsoring districts (Argonia, Clearwater, Conway Springs and Mulvane) and the South Central Kansas Education Service Center.
The Clearwater Connection facility is located southwest of the Wichita airport in Schulte, KS.
This program was the first diploma completion program started by The Service Center and the first of its kind in the state of Kansas when it opened in the fall of 1995.
