Time Management and Task Completion

The most common reason why students do not do well in an online course is because they do not develop a plan for successful time management and task completion.

If the following statements apply to you, then there is a good chance that you would do well in an online environment:

• You are self-motivated and self-disciplined.

• You are the primary person responsible for your own success and act accordingly in your priority-setting and decision-making.

• You are not afraid of doing things on the computer. You are comfortable using the internet, email, and a word processor, and/or are willing to put extra time towards improving technical skills.

• You know how to get support from people around you when it is needed.

• You plan a regular schedule for accessing your course site and completing course requirements, and you stick to it.

• You maintain open communication with your advisor. Contact your advisor if you have any questions; if you have difficulty accessing the course; if you need clarification on an assignment; or if there is anything else your advisor should know.

It's Not too Late to Graduate!

New Directions Learning Academy is a Diploma Completion Program located in Topeka, Kansas. We offer students a second chance to earn their high school diploma through our local sponsors including Topeka High, Seaman, and many more. 

To enroll at New Directions, you must be at least 18 years old and your original graduating class must have already graduated.
